The RCCO World eX Championship is not only about intense racing action \u2013 it is also about leaving a positive mark on our planet. Every participation in a World eX race event means one more tree planted by Racing For The Climate e.V. at the end of the season made possible by donations and the support of partners like ABT Sportsline, the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD) and the Scherer Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The non-profit association has a simple and powerful idea: for every event you join, a tree goes into the ground. This way, having fun in the sim and enjoying close racing directly supports real-world reforestation. Over the first seasons, this initiative has already resulted in hundreds of trees and is growing with every new World eX campaign. Young trees can bind relevant amounts of CO\u2082 over their lifetime, which makes every starting grid in World eX a small but measurable contribution to climate protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the eve of the new season, members of our community headed by Racing For The Climate e.V. chairman Julius Martin and his brother Markus travelled to the D\u00fcben Heath Nature Park near Leipzig to plant 129 new trees \u2013 one for each eligible race participation in last year\u2019s Season 8 of World eX. Together with friends, employees of a local K\u00fchne car dealership and schoolchildren from the region, they planted mainly beech and chestnut trees, two species that fit well into the local forest ecosystem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Planting the trees close to the headquarters of Racing For The Climate e.V. has been inspired by a similar project created by school children and supported by the local car dealer. K\u00fchne\u2019s \u201cOne car \u2013 one tree\u201d initiative and the \u201cB\u00e4ume Gegen den Klimawandel\u201d school project are a perfect fit for Racing For The Climate e.V. and World eX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The park ranger, himself a motorsport fan, has even built an electric kart with the students \u2013 a perfect match for our electric eX ZERO prototype and our #RacingForTheClimate mindset. This shared passion for racing and sustainability created many conversations about how motorsport and sim racing can support climate action in a practical way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The story continues with Season 9 of World eX which begins on March 3 with Round 1 at Albert Park in Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
