Triple World eX Champion Devin Braune has formed a formidable team for the upcoming World eX Championship, set to begin on 3 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having competed for Rocket Simsport for the last three seasons, the German driver is switching to Brabham Motorsport for Season 9 of the all-electric sim racing series. The software developer will be joined by young German racing driver Jarno Wiese, who was runner-up last season. The team will be completed by handicapped British racing driver Luke Pound, who has yet to score a podium finish in World eX, but showed promising pace in winter testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Season 8 of World eX, the three new Brabham Motorsport drivers scored 413 points, compared to T17 E-Speed\u2019s 212 points from Steffen Walter, Jennifer Schamey and Chris Overend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third most promising team on paper is tv racing, where new team member Nicolas Hillebrand will join regulars Robin Hay and Thomas Voigt. The three drivers scored 177 points last year. Hillebrand has been the last driver to beat Devin Braune in a regular World eX feature race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teams have been part of the RCCO World eX Championship since its inception in 2020. However, Season 9 will be the first time that a Teams\u2019 title will be awarded alongside the regular Drivers\u2019 title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of seven teams have registered for the inaugural World eX Teams\u2019 Championship. Each team can enter a maximum of three drivers, and the two drivers with the highest scores in each event will count towards the Teams\u2019 Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It remains to be seen what impact the creation of the Teams\u2019 Championship will have on the World eX competition generally. Last year, Jarno Wiese was one of just two drivers able to challenge Devin Braune on a regular basis. Will he pose a greater threat to his new teammate, or will Braune find it even easier? We will see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven teams have registered for the Season 9 Teams\u2019 Championship while individual drivers can still compete in the series and join the unique sim racing community at any time during the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
