Networking @ Highspeed took on a whole new meaning at the fourth round of the RCCO E-Sport Series in Mexico City: Devin Braune and Nicolas Hillebrand were two guest drivers from World eX. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hillebrand won the World eX race on the Indianapolis oval in October for Frank Biela’s team. Braune, a game programmer by profession, competed in a total of three World eX races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As expected, the two Esports Racing pros set the pace in the first night race of the RCCO E-Sport Series. In the first race, Braune and Hillebrand fought a gripping duel, which Braune ultimately won after two collisions. In the second race with reversed grid, the 24-year-old drove from the very back to the top in just two laps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nevertheless, Braune had to work harder than expected for his second victory in the end after he spun while leading confidently. \u201cI got on the green carpet next to the track, which is extremely slippery,\u201d said Braune, who is passionate about karting in his spare time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Braune fought his way back to the front place by place after his spin and eventually won the second race as well \u2013 this time ahead of Julius Martin and Steffen Walter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI really enjoyed it,\u201d said Devin Braune after his guest appearance. \u201cAnd the RCCO E-Sport Series format would be pretty cool for World eX as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since guest drivers are not counting for the championship, Julius Martin took the overall lead with two first places from Andre Dietzel, who was absent for the fourth race of the season due to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a fierce battle, Stefan Waschow managed to overtake Thomas Voigt on the last lap of the second race and, as the eighth driver, secured his ticket to the Super Final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The grand finale will take place on December 20: First, two more regular races are scheduled at the Hockenheimring. Three laps at Le Mans will then decide who secures the title in the third season of the RCCO E-Sport Series. The first two titles were clinched by Michael Niemas, who has not yet won a race in season three and would currently only start the Super Final from fifth place on the grid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
